What a DEA does
DEAs survey dwellings and produce EPCs using RdSAP. The certificate underpins retrofit eligibility (e.g. ECO4 requires bands D–G) and the Home Energy Model transition.
Qualification
The Level 3 Certificate in Domestic Energy Assessment is delivered over ~3 days live online plus a portfolio of five EPCs and knowledge tests.
Cost and route on
DEA courses cost roughly £990–£1,590 depending on format. Most learners add the Retrofit Assessor award to work on PAS 2035 projects.
